Brown sends DVD to refs boss in call
DONS boss Craig Brown has launched a bid to get Scotland’s referees to be more consistent with their decisions.
Brown backed the red card shown to Ryan Jack for a late tackle on Murray Davidson during last weekend’s 0-0 draw with St Johnstone.
But he admitted he is annoyed St Mirren striker Nigel Hasselbaink, pictured, was only booked for a similar challenge on Dunfermline’s Alex Keddie during their 0-0 draw at East End Park on Monday night.
Brown revealed he has sent DVD footage of both tackles to SFA ref’s boss John Fleming in the hope that it helps him see the need for referees to treat every player in the same manner.
Brown said: “In my opinion, Hasselbaink’s tackle is at least as bad as the one made by Ryan.
“I sent footage of both challenges to the SFA to see if they agree. I’ve not done it in an effort to clear Ryan. We accept it was right to send him off and that he has to serve a two-game ban.
“I’ve also made it clear I don’t want Hasselbaink to get into any more trouble.
“I’ve done it to show there is a need for referees to be consistent with their decisions. “If the same ref who was at Pittodrie had also handled the St Mirren game then we have to assume he would have sent Hasselbaink off.
“I’ve asked Fleming to study the footage and decide if he feels it was wrong for one
