FEAST on Townsend’s dumplings with potted shrimp
Joe Fox, head chef at Townsend at the Whitechapel Gallery, pots up a perfect autumn treat
Townsend first welcomed customers at the start of the year but was quickly forced to shut with the arrival of the coronavirus, at which point it quickly pivoted to a hugely popular Town-Send delivery service. Based at Aldgate’s historic Whitechapel Gallery and the brainchild of Nick Gilkinson (ex Anglo and Garden Café) and head chef Joe Fox (Petersham Nurseries), the dining room serves up an ever-evolving menu of creative British plates with fresh, seasonal ingredients at its heart. This month sees the team launch a series of one-night-only menu collaborations with the likes of Manteca’s Chris Leach and Rita’s Gabriel Pryce. We can’t wait. Tickets £36 (resy.com)
