You beauty!

-

Just when you think Charlotte Tilbury has peaked, she raises the game. More ideas. More innovation. Making things — and this is crucial — just… easier for us. Rear-view mirror make-up that can turn us from troll into siren in a couple of minutes. Polished, considered make-up formulas with real glamour and an increasingly impressive skincare range. The ambition of the brand is astounding; the execution, exceptional.

A case in point: earlier this summer she launched an SPF/primer/skincare hybrid that sucks up three products into one tube — and one purchase. Invisible UV Flawless Poreless Primer was years in the making. Tweaked and tuned until it really delivered.

SPF still feels optional to many of us. It shouldn’t. Apart from sheer laziness, lots of us still believe that SPF will be chalky, greasy and generally unworkable. Not so. There are lots of good ones out there but this Tilbury offering contains a blend of actives that nourish as well as hyaluronic acid to hydrate and polymers for a blurred, radiant finish. Pores are shrunk. Elasticity is boosted. Skin is protected.

But what about the primer aspect? I now reach for it as a matter of course and I’ve noticed that my tinted moisturiser, concealer, blusher and bronzer stay put a while longer and my face seems to behave better. Less lunatic, more luminous. I know one woman who even uses this as a night cream because she adores the texture and her husband says it makes her look silken. Enough said.
