HOUSE PARTY AND A FASHION FLING
Next up, the inaugural Soho House Awards, held at the club’s 180 Strand HQ and beamed across TikTok and Instagram (modern) to celebrate the best emerging talent and established names in the creative business. Host Stanley Tucci told the winners to ‘come up and accept your award with the minimum of fuss’. Keep it short and cute was the vibe. ‘Everyone’s a winner, unless you’re a loser…’ he continued, before asking, ‘Does the world need another awards show? Absolutely not.’ And then going off-piste with, ‘I’m so sorry, this is what they wrote for me.’ Lols. Designer Harris Reed won the award (a golden Picante, FYI) for Designer of the Year, dedicating his award to love. Olympian Tom Daley presented the award to him, which resonated with the designer: ‘His coming out journey allowed me to feel seen back when I couldn’t have imagined being out.’ It wasn’t all sentiment, though, with enough Picantes (real, this time) thrown into the mix to sink a battleship.
Meanwhile, across town Fiorucci took over the roof of the One Hundred Shoreditch Hotel with a who’s who of the east London massive to celebrate its foray into the neighbourhood with a new pop-up shop.
