Really, how’s that gonna make me feel better? In Ruben Östlund’s satire, the super-wealthy really, really don’t get what they expected when they board a hyper-luxury cruise. If you saw Östlund’s Palme d’Or-winning The Square, you can guess at the kind of sledgehamm­er oddness you’re in for.

What exactly am I in for? It sounds a bit brutal. Are there any yucky bits in it? There’s a fair dollop of, er, bodily functions, but it’s stomach-churningly good. And besides ES cover star Harris Dickinson’s brilliant idiot influencer, Woody Harrelson puts in a storming turn as the ship’s dipsomania­c, Marxist captain.

Woody! I loved Cheers. Hmmm, maybe you’re not quite getting the drift…
