WIRELESS Festival descended into chaos on Friday when a number of ticketless types smashed through the barriers to gain entry. Sunday was only slightly less dramatic when it looked as though star attraction Nicki Minaj might not turn up at all.

In the late afternoon, Jessie J had the arena-sized voice and songs to triumph on the main stage, beginning with the sassy R’n’B of Ain’t Been Done.

On self-help ballad Nobody’s Perfect, she encouraged the crowd to “just sing whatever comes into your head”.

OK, then: £5 for a Guinness is a tad steep, this isn’t one of your better songs, and that habit you have of seeing how many different notes you can hit per syllable is a-no-oy-oy-ing.

Still, the funky Burnin’ Up was an appropriat­e choice for the sunburnt masses and Bang Bang a thrilling blend of single-entendres and attention-allshippin­g vocals.
