Remembering 7/7
TEN years ago tomorrow, the 7/7 terror attacks left 52 innocent people dead, hundreds injured and our city bewildered. So the #WalkTogether initiative encourages Londoners to walk the last part of their journey to work tomorrow, in commemoration of that dreadful day. For many, this week’s anniversary will bring sadness and anguish. But just as Londoners walked on when the bombings brought our transport network to a halt in 2005, so we should join together tomorrow in an act of dignified remembrance. And as Londoners walk in unity, remembering those who were killed, we can be sure that while the capital may have been scarred by 7/7, it was not broken.
