Deadly mission for a desperate man

-

I Against I Tonight, 10pm, London Live

When A,E, I, O or U turn on one another, it’s an ugly business, as one constant in life is the assumption that that tight-knit gang stand together against the rest of the alphabet. But when they do fall out, they swear an oath of the gravest kind — a vowel of revenge.

Which is similar to what Joseph Carmichael (Mark Womack) has sworn when his dear, maniacal dad Tommy ( John Castle) has been killed by a man he presumes to be Ian Drake (Kenny Doughty). But when kidnapped, Drake ducks the blame.

In exchange for not having his life quite murdered until prett y much dead, Drake is given one night to identify and whack a figure in the CCTV footage who does for Tommy.

Had Drake once been a The Apprentice contestant he’d spend ages considering what his assassin’s name should be, but there’s no time, not when the actual killer has been tasked to clip Drake’s feathers.

Made in Chelsea Tonight, London Live, 8pm

Avert your eyes — this evening our orbs are treated to a lingering view of Jamie Laing’s “special place” and the effect it has on Louise. This special place is hot, intimate and has a man cutting fish up with knives (whose doesn’t?).

A swanky sushi restaurant is where Laing feels most at ease and where he has invited Louise for a spot of lunch and several demanding questions as to when they’ll next meet up.

Rather than six degrees of separation there’s one — Louise’s geography course from Edinburgh.

The Headline Interview: Dr Melanie Windridge, physicist Tuesday, London Live, noon

Last week Melanie Windridge and her colleagues set a new world record for running hightemperature superconducting magnets for 24 hours, trashing the previous record of around six hours. And we were pleased to go to the gym once.

Harnessing nuclear fusion is a world-changing goal: “Fusion powers the Sun and stars, and we want to use it here on Earth to make a clean, safe and abundant energy source for the future. It’s the joining together of small particles to make larger ones, building up like LEGO bricks.”
