DAVID LU IZh asset his sight son winning the Premier League and the Champions League with Chelsea after completing a £34million return to Stamford Bridge on transfer deadline day.

Chelsea agreed a deal with Paris St Germain yesterday afternoon to re-sign the 29-year-old Brazil defender and the switch was officially confirmed by the club just after 11pm.

Luiz, who won the Champions League, Europa League and FA Cup in his first spell with the Blues between 2011-14, is already targeting more winners’ medals under coach Antonio Conte, including a first Premier League title.

He told Chelsea TV: “I need to win again. I am hungry to win. Of course I want to win the Premier League, but I want to win all the other titles again. I’m here because I have ambition to play for a big club — and when you play for a big club you need to think about winning every single match.”

Chelsea turned to Luiz to improve their options at the back after missing out on a number of transfer targets throughout the summer. They had a £32m offer rejected by PSG on Tuesday night but the French champions decided to cash in when Chelsea raised their offer to £34m.

Luiz made it clear to PSG he wanted to return to Chelsea, although stopped

short of handing in an official transfer request. The majority of Chelsea fans have welcomed the news and Luiz insisted he is delighted to be back in west London.

“I am very happy to be here again,” he said. “It is fantastic to have a second opportunity to play for this club.

“I love this club, that’s why I’m here. Let’s try to continue the nice history with a lot of joy and try to get success.

“Did I think I’d ever play here again? In football anything can happen. Everybody knows I have a feeling for this club. Of course, sometimes I could imagine that. It will be an amazing opportunity for me to show the fans again how I love this club and how I love to play for this club. I can’t wait to wear the shirt and play at Stamford Bridge again.”

Luiz upset some Blues fans when he celebrated scoring against Chelsea in P SG’s 2-2 draw in the Champions League quarter-final last year, which helped knock them out of the competition on away goals. But addressing the club’s fans, Luiz made it clear he wants to repay them for all their support first time around.

He said: “I can’t wait to see you guys and give back what you guys gave me in my first period I was here. Let’s enjoy.”

Meanwhile, new left-back Marcos Alonso believes he is better equipped to make a major impact in the Premier League at the third attempt.

Alonso completed a £23m move to Chelsea from Fiorentina yesterday and is determined to prove he is value for money. The 25-year-old already knows what is in store, having played nine times for Bolton when they were still in the top flight and on loan at Sunderland in 2014.

Sunderland wanted to make the deal permanent two years ago but Alonso feels his decision to play the last two seasons in Serie A with Fiorentina has paid off. He told Chelsea TV: “I am very happy to be here and to be back in the Premier League. It is a big decision, a big step in my career.

“I had the chance before but I think it was a good thing for me to stay at Fiorentina. But when I knew about Chelsea, I said ‘yes’ in the first second I knew.

“I’m more ready than before and this is a very big thing. I have played with Gary Cahill at Bolton and I know some of the Spanish players as well. [Conte] is a great manager. I have seen the great work he’s done at Juventus and the Italy team.”
