Police hunt sex attacker who held scissors to girl’s throat

DETECTIVES have launched a manhunt after a teenager was attacked and sexually assaulted in a shop.

The man dragged the girl to the rear of the shop in Cranbrook Road, Ilford, and assaulted her.

He then held scissors to her throat and robbed her of £500.

Police today released CCTV images of the attacker, thought to be in his thirties, following the attack on Thursday December 21.

Command, said:

“The suspect has abused this woman’s trust before forcing his way in and dragging her to the rear of the shop to attack her.

“We are appeal- ing for any informa- tion as to the identity of this man.

“I urge anyone who recognises this male to speak with police as soon as possible.

“Your call could help us remove a dangerous criminal from the community or may eliminate someone from police enquiries.”

The girl was in the shop at 4am when the suspect approached the door and said that he knew the owner.

When she opened the door to speak to him, he pushed his way in, sexually assaulted her and tried to rape her, police said.

The suspect is described as a black man, of medium build with facial stubble. He was wearing a grey hooded jumper, black jacket, dark grey bottoms and black trainers.
