A CHILDREN’S fashion designer slashed her husband across the face with scissors after discovering he was having an affair.

Charlotte Laudat, 31, is facing jail after attacking Simon, 40, hours after finding naked photos of a woman “in her late seventies” on his phone. She pulled scissors from her robe and inflicted eight wounds, telling him: “You are going to die tonight,” Blackfriars crown court heard.

Fearing for his life, he jumped out of a first-floor window to escape, damaging his ankles. He now needs a wheelchair or walking frame to get around.

Laudat, who designed children’s clothes under the brand Little Lott London, this week admitted unlawful wounding and inflicting grievous

bodily harm. She is now pregnant and wept as Judge Jane Sullivan warned her she could face prison.

The court heard the couple, who married in 2016, had been on a property management course in Milton Keynes on October 26 last year when she found photos of a woman on his phone. Laudat said: “I saw various pictures of a lady in her late seventies, naked. I never want to see them again.”

She added that her husband and the woman had an “agreement” for £50 and dinner — “it was a sex meeting that was going on, which was even weirder”. Laudat said she initially believed it was a “joke” but her husband admitted to the affair, coming to her flat in Finsbury Park later that evening to try to talk.

Prosecutor Gino Connor said after a phone call to the woman in the photos, she flew into a rage. “She was shouting and screaming abuse... she attacked her husband with a pair of scissors”, Mr Connor said. “She started to slash at his face, saying, ‘I will cut your eye open.’”

Mr Laudat, who gave evidence from a wheelchair, told the court: “After she hit me the first time with the scissors I backed away because I was in shock. She then put the scissors inside the knuckles and basically punched me.”

He said he pleaded with his wife to stop the attack, and grabbed her hair in a bid to wrestle free the weapon. The court heard that after Laudat told him “You’re suffering tonight, you are going to die tonight” he jumped out of the kitchen window.

Laudat had claimed her husband had come at her first with the scissors, and she had inflicted the wounds during a struggle. But Judge Sullivan said: “I have no doubt it was she who produced the scissors and used them. She was angry about his behaviour.” Laudat was freed on bail until sentencing on April 13.
