I spent the entire time on my phone, Googling things to do. Relaxing? Nope. Because what many don’t realise is that, in doing the work now, us planners are allowing our future selves — our holiday selves — to be absolved of all responsibi­lity. It means that, once the plane touches down, we truly switch off. Now that is relaxation.
