Home CCTV camera startles burglary suspect in gems raid

THIS is the image of a suspected burglar caught on a householde­r’s CCTV camera after breaking into a Bromley home.

The intruder can be seen rifling through possession­s before suddenly realising that he is being filmed and trying to cover his face with his arm.

Police were called to reports of the burglary in Copers Cope Road at about 3.25pm on Monday June 18.

The intruder is believed to have stolen jewellery after breaking in through the downstairs window. The homeowners were out at the time.

The man is described as white, wearing a distinctiv­e blue and white Armani top and a baseball cap.

Detectives today appealed to anyone who recognises the man to contact them. Detective Constable Chris Taylor, who is leading the investigat­ion, said: “I am appealing for the public’s help to identify his whereabout­s. This ordeal has understand­ably left the residents shaken and I would urge anyone with informatio­n to get in touch.” Members of the public with informatio­n should contact Bromley CID by calling 101 and quote reference 4646/18Jun.
