Ritz casino chief jailed for stealing £3,000 from crime agency

THE Ritz Hotel Casino’s anti-money laundering chief has been jailed for s te a l i n g £ 3 ,0 0 0 from his fo r me r employers at the National Crime Agency. Alex Henderson, 31, had admitted taking a credit card from a secure storage room and asking a friend to withdraw six lump sums of £500.

Henderson, from Hayes, broke down in tears on Friday and pleaded with Judge Deborah Taylor to “please reconsider” as she jailed him for 16 months at Southwark crown court.

He called out to his wife from the dock, telling her: “I can’t leave my children. I love you, I’m sorry.”
