NO DEAL
IN THE past 24 hours, a false choice has been put forward to us; accept a flawed and inadequate deal or stare out into the unknown. That is nonsense.
The agreement put forward yesterday is unacceptable and I cannot vote for it. It fails on so many levels because it starts from a single, wretched premise — that Britain cannot make its own way in the world. This is more than a failure of technical detail; it is a failure of negotiation, a failure of ambition and a failure of leadership.
