CHERYL turned DJ for the day as she co-hosted the BBC Radio 1 drivetime show with Nick Grimshaw. The singer, pictured leaving the studio, was promoting her new single Love Made Me Do It — and her ex-boyfriend’s, too. She played Polaroid, Liam Payne’s new song, after telling listeners that he had texted her to request it. The pair, who have a baby son, Bear, split earlier this year. RAPPER Sean “Diddy” Combs was today said to be “d eva s t a te d a n d shocked” following the death of Kim Porter, his ex-girlfriend and the mother of three of his children.
Porter, a model and actress, was found dead at her home yesterday in Toluca Lake, Los Angeles. She was 47.
The local medical examiner’s office confirmed her death but released no information about the cause.
An emergency call posted online by celebrity website TMZ apparently cited a cardiac arrest, but TMZ also reported that Porter had been suffering from “f l u-l i ke s y mp t o ms a n d p o s s i b l y pneumonia” for several weeks,
Another source said she had called her doctor earlier yesterday and said she still wasn’t feeling better.
A source close to 49-year-old Combs, also known as Puff Daddy, who dated Porter between 1994 and 2007, said: “Diddy is devastated and shocked.
“He and Kim were still very close friends and co-parents even though their romantic relationship didn’t work. They were still a family.” Stars and friends today paid tribute to Porter, who appeared in the 2011 film Mama I Want To Sing and on the TV series Wicked Wicked Games in 2006 and 2007.
Rihanna wrote on Instagram: “This is heavy. Heartbroken about this. We lost a real one today, beautiful inside and out.
“So many will be affected by this, some won’t even know why... but the whole world was graced by the vibrance in your spirit.”
50 Cent wrote: “RIP to Kim Porter, I send my condolences to her friends and family. She was loved and will be missed dearly. I know Puff is hit right now, he loved her for real, soul mate type s**t. Chin up Puff, Positive vibes only.”
Nicki Minaj said it was “the most heartbreaking news. My condolences to your children, family & friends. Sending love to Puff as well, I can’t even imagine what you must be going through”, while Missy Elliott wrote: “This is so heartbreaking. Lord please g ive h e r k i d s & h e r wh o l e f a mi ly strength.”
Drake shared a picture of Porter attending one of his concerts, writing: “Sending peace and prayers to my brothers and to the big homie Puff. Love y’all and I am so sorry.”
American model Kimora Lee Simmons was yesterday seen sobbing outside Porter’s home.
Porter and Combs had twin daughters Jessie James and D’Lila, 11, and 20-year-old son Christian.
Porter also had a 27-year-old son, Quincy Brown, from a previous relationship. Combs has three children from other relationships.
