A boboat trip to the Blue LagoLagoon, on the tiny island of Comino,C is another highlight. Try kayaking — perfect for a family photo to treasure.

Families with older offspring might want to time their visit with one of the many festivals that Malta is known for including Annie Mac’s Lost & Found from May 2 to 5, 2019, Isle of MTV 2019 (usually in June) followed by the dance music Glitch Festival from August 14 to 16. With jazz, rock and folk festivals as well as carnivals, there will inevitably be an event to enjoy.

If you are planning on visiting during the Easter holidays, check out the Nickelodeon Treasure Hunt, which will run from April 13 to 18, 2019. With activities including searching for SpongeBob SquarePants and friends at the National Aquarium to joining the pizza-loving Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles at Is-Suq TalBelt food market, there will be plenty of fun including a live, free theatre show complete with slime-filled challenges and a carnival-style parade through Valletta Old Town.

The Maltese enjoy a Mediterranean pace of life, are recognised as one of the friendliest people on earth and are family-oriented — so whatever the age or stage of your family, you will feel very welcome here.
