GYM BRINGS IN MIDDLE-AGED STAFF TO GET PEOPLE ACTIVE

HEALTH club chain David Lloyd is to have a trainer aged at least 55 in every venue by 2023 to encourage older people to get fit.

It comes after Public Health

England revealed that older age groups are less comfortabl­e exercising in public.

It is hoped the plan will inspire those of a similar age to become fitter and alleviate pressure on the NHS.

Research suggests the NHS and wider health system could save £8 billion over a decade if one third of inactive over-55s took regular exercise.
