SELF-STYLED Brexit hardman Steve Baker MP says he “waited for 15 minutes” for a meeting with Boris Johnson, when the PM was forming his Cabinet. Baker waited another 15 minutes, he tells Chris Hope’s Brexit Podcast, before “journalists started asking me what’s going on. After an hour I said: ‘Tell the Prime Minister he’s got my mobile phone number and I’m leaving.’”

Baker adds: “It turned out the Prime Minister was available after all.”

The MP then turned down a junior ministerial position.
