CARTER NEEDS 14 STITCHES AFTER FALL AT HOME

-

FORMER president Jimmy Carter suffered a black eye and needed 14 stitches after falling at his Georgia home.

Mr Carter, 95, was injured yesterday but still made it to a concert in Nashville, Tennessee, above, to rally volunteers for his 36th annual project to build low-cost homes for the charity Habitat for Humanity.

He wore a baseball cap, but his left eye was swollen and he had a bandage above it. Mr Carter said he had gone to hospital for treatment but his “No 1 priority was to come to Nashville and build houses”.
