APPRENTICESHIPS

-

What is it? Paid jobs offering participants training while at work and teaching outside of it. Apprenticeships are available to people of entry level and right up to those with a Masters degree-equivalent, who are 16 or over. Each apprentice should be paid at least the Apprentice National Minimum Wage, currently £4.30 per hour, if under 19 or over 19 in the first year of the apprenticeship. Application deadline is 30 September. Apprenticeships are available in England only.

Why apply? Offers young people a potential life changing opportunity to kick-start their career.

What are the bonuses for businesses? Post-apprenticeship, it’s common for participants to remain within the company, meaning businesses benefit from the skills and knowledge they have acquired. There is a £3,000 payment available for new apprentices joining a business before 30 September. Apprenticeships allow companies to create new roles for those looking to change careers, or for those who have recently

experienced redundancy.
