It is heartening to hear that street harassment such as wolf-whistling could become a specific crime as plans to better protect women and girls are set to be unveiled. However, action taken must also be proactive and preventive, rather than just punitive, which starts with educating young boys.

The revelations from the Everyone’s Invited page have demonstrated that this behaviour starts incredibly young, and this is where we should focus in order to ensure women’s safety. Emma
