William back on duty after Kate’s cancer news
THE Prince of Wales was today returning to official public duties for the first time since his wife Kate revealed her cancer diagnosis.
William was visiting a food distribution charity — Surplus to Supper — in Sunbury-on-Thames, Surrey, before travelling to a youth centre in west London which benefits from the organisation’s deliveries.
The prince, 41, spent the Easter holidays with his wife and children as they took time away to process Kate’s diagnosis. In a video message on March 22, she asked that time, space and privacy be afforded to her family following her chemotherapy announcement.
William’s last public engagement was on March 19, when he visited Sheffield to promote his Homewards homelessness campaign. Kensington Palace previously said that he would resume public engagements after the school holidays, on a reduced timetable as he continues to support Kate, pictured with him. It also emerged today that is brother Harry has now officially changed his country of residence from Britain to the United States. The Duke of Sussex altered his personal details in connection with Travalyst, his eco-tourism non-profit organisation. He backdated his new official status as a US resident to June 29 last year — the day he and wife Meghan were ousted from Frogmore Cottage in Windsor.
