‘We just want Lily home safe’
ADundeewomanhastoldhow she fears hearing bad news about her sister after she went missing while on a night out.
Police have launched an appeal for information after 22-year-old Lily McLucas disappeared.
Lily, from Douglas, was last seen on Saturday night at the city’s Union 39 pub on Union Street, when she was wearing a purple dress.
She is described as being 5ft 4in tall, of medium build with ginger, curly, shoulderlength hair.
Her sister, Lorraine Scrimgeour, said she was made aware of Lily leaving the pub with an unknown man.
Lorraine, 35, said: “I last saw my sister at 12.20am. We were out for a few drinks and were just having a good time.
“The last conversation I had with Lily was that she was going up to our brother’s house on Ballantrae Road in half an hour — so she should have been there at 1.50am.
“A friend told me that she’d seen her leave with a guy, but that was after I’d already left so I didn’t see it.
“My head is all over the place. I’m dreading a knock on the door or a call from the police to tell me something bad.”
Lorraine said that Lily had been living in Liverpool, before coming up to Dundee on September 3 as their mother was unwell. She passed away two days later and Lily then moved to Dundee permanently.
Lorraine said: “I can’t think why she would disappear — there were no arguments on Saturday. If she’s reading this, then I’d like to say please contact a member of our family.
“We just want her home safe and we’re all worried about her.”
A Police Scotland spokesman added: “Police Scotland is appealing to the public for information concerning the whereabouts of a missing 22-year-old female from Dundee.
“Lily McLucas has been missing since the evening of Saturday October 25 where she was last seen at the Union 39 public house, Union Street.
“Lily is described as 5ft 4in tall, medium build with ginger curly shoulder length hair. She was wearing a purple dress.
“Anyone who has any information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 or, alternatively, phone the charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
