Kim Kardashian held at gunpoint
KIM Kardashian has been held up at gunpoint in a Paris hotel room by masked men dressed as police officers who reportedly stole jewellery worth several million dollars.
Her spokeswoman said the reality TV star was “badly shaken but physically unharmed” after her ordeal last night, but offered no other details.
A Paris police official confirmed there was a robbery involving Miss Kardashian, and that an investigation was under way.
Miss Kardashian’s spokeswoman had earlier told CNN there were two armed masked men, although it was later reported that there were five.
Miss Kardashian’s husband Kanye West was performing at the Meadows Music and Arts Festival in New York.
He abruptly ended his set. Witnesses said West told the crowd he was “sorry” there was a “family emergency” and he had to “stop the show”.
Miss Kardashian has been in Paris for fashion week. She attended the Givenchy show last night. Last week she was ambushed by a serial celebrity prankster who attempted to accost her as she was entering a restaurant.
And in 2014, Miss Kardashian was attacked outside a Paris fashion week show. She was not hurt in either incident. Paris has been a special place for the couple, who spent the weekend there before marrying in Florence in May of 2014.
It is unclear if the couple’s two children, three-year-old daughter North and 10-month-old son Saint, were with Miss Kardashian in the hotel room.
Some Twitter users wrote that they thought the robbery was funny or fodder for her TV show.
But stars including James Corden and Piers Morgan have defended her.
Corden wrote on Twitter: “People making jokes tonight would do well to remember she’s a mother, a daughter, a wife, a friend. Be nice or shut up.”
Good Morning Britain presenter Morgan said: “Feel very sorry for Kim Kardashian. Must have been a terrifying experience.”
And model Chrissy Teigen, who is married to singer John Legend, tweeted: “Some stuff just isn’t funny. I see you trying, but it isn’t.”
She added: “Fame is interesting. Celebs are supposed to love you guys while also knowing you’d make a meme of our dead bodies to get retweets.”
