My Guide is all about helping to get blind and partially sighted people out and about i n their community.

And Guide Dogs Scotland i s l ooking to recruit and train sighted volunteers to assist people with sight l oss i n and around Dundee.

“My Guide matches a person who is blind or partially sighted with a trained volunteer,” said My Guide ambassador Rosalind Wallace.

“It might mean working with your My Guide partner to set goals that increase their ability to get out and about, or taking part in social and leisure activities. And in return, you would make a real difference to the lives of blind and partially sighted people, learn new skills to enhance your CV, make new friends and give something back to your local community.”

Training to volunteer for a My Guide Partnership takes around a day or two but will give you the skills to confidently guide blind and par tially sighted people.

If you are aged over 18 and want to volunteer, call Rosalind on 0345 1430203, or email rosalind.wallace@ guidedogs.org.uk.
