Clinical Kirrie well on top at Craigie Park

-

EAST Craigie were given a lesson in finishing by Kirrie thistle who ran out 5-1 winners at Craigie Park in the North League.

Darren Scott and Bryan Duell hit doubles while a Kamal Kadar strike made up Kirrie’s nap hand.

The Shipbuilders only crumb of comfort was a Liam McArtney goal.

It was a similar story at Beechwood where a weakened Harp side found it hard going against Newburgh in the second half with the Fifers easing their way to a 4-1 victory after being behind at the interval.

Harp were well worth their interval lead thanks to a Darryl Gowans strike on the half-hour but they ran out of steam in the second half and doubles from Stevie Harris and Gavin Thomson gave the Fifers the points.

Kinnoull moved to the top of the table after a 3-0 win at Coupar Angus. Gavin Norrie and a Rhys Davies double counted for the Perth side.

Arbroath Vics lost 5-0 at home to Lochore.

Brechin Vics won 5-1 at Forfar Albion.

Scone Thistle lost 2-0 at home to Thornton. Both goals were scored by Gary Thomson while the hosts had Stephen Moon sent off late in the game.

Keir Hendry, Ryan Young, Scott Black, Conor Mitchell and Steven Eaton scored for Vics.

RESULT of the week: VIOLET’S 2-1 win at Armadale made it three wins on the spin for new boss Ralph Henderson.
