MARTIN Boyle hailed the service of his team-mates after hitting a double in Hibernian’s 3-0 victory over Ayr at Somerset Park.

The winger has scored three goals in two matches since being moved into a central attacking role but was quick to share the praise.

Boyle converted after passes from left-back Lewis Stevenson and John McGinn in each half before the Scotland midfielder rounded off the victory with a spectacular long-range strike.

Boyle said: “It was good to continue the scoring and I thought the team played absolutely brilliantly.

“I was making runs in behind and we were getting the likes of Andrew Shinnie, Fraser Fyvie and McGinn on the ball and advancing forward — it all clicked into place.”

Head coach Neil Lennon was equally happy with their afternoon’s work.

“I think that was our best performance of the season in terms of controlling the game,” Lennon said.

“Our passing was good and we created a lot of chances and deserved to be 1-0 up at half-time.

“Then we came on strong in the second half, so I’m very, very pleased because Ayr have been in good form.

“It’s a difficult place to come, but it’s an emphatic victory and we’re very thrilled with that.” first half we were
