Woman accused of charity bin theft

A WOMAN allegedly stole items from a charity bin then assaulted another woman, Dundee Sheriff Court heard.

Sheryl Herd, of Craigmore Street, will stand trial at the court early next year facing multiple charges.

Herd denies stealing clothing and CDs from the charity collection bin.

That offence is alleged to have taken place at a property in Alexander Street on June 28.

She also denies assaulting Ellienorah Jack.

The charge states that she repeatedly punched Ms Jack on the head and body, kicked her on the body and pulled her hair.

Prosecutor­s say that Ms Jack was left injured in the incident, said to have occurred at the same location and on the same date.

Herd further denies behaving in a threatenin­g or abusive manner at a property in North William Street on the same date.

She allegedly committed this offence by shouting, swearing, shouting homophobic remarks and uttering threats of violence.

Herd is accused of throwing bottles and brandishin­g a metal pole in the incident.

The offence was allegedly aggravated by prejudice relating to sexual orientatio­n.

The 35-year-old’s trial takes place on February 24.

An intermedia­te diet is scheduled to be held on February 2.
