Fodder on the up after perfect 10
IN the Doc Ferry’s Premier League, Cannon Fodder pulled themselves up the table to within touching distance of three teams above them with an emphatic 10-2 win over AC Harleys.
On a day when it all clicked for Fodder, Joe Bruce waded in with four goals from the left-wing, while Craig Stewart nabbed a hat-trick, two from the penalty spot. Jamie Wallace thundered in a brace and captain Andy Whyte scored the opener.
Stuart Corrigan scored in either half for Harleys, who were struggling with suspensions and call-offs.
Dryburgh stayed two points clear of the drop zone after a 1-1 draw against the Medics to keep it interesting at the foot of the table.
In the Balgay Bar First Division, long-term leaders Fintry Rovers went down 3-1 against Coldside Athletic to record their third loss on the spin, having started the campaign unbeaten in their opening nine fixtures.
They still remain in contention for promotion.
At the other end of the table, DK Raiders’ 4-2 win over Wellbeat sees them climb out of the automatic relegation spots now occupied by Wellbeat and Clark’s Cowboys.
In the Trident Trophies Second Division, Charleston AFC’s 5-4 win over RNL Dundee prevented RNL going into second spot.
Sidlaw Albion’s 3-3 draw against Cairdy Thistle was a valuable point, keeping them above Dundee Central, who also drew 2-2 against Fife Thistle B.
This weekend marks the final game of league action in the DSMFL with divisional cups being played.
The league then shuts down for its traditional winter break until February 4, though teams still in the North of Tay and Scottish Cup will have fixtures to fulfil, weather permitting, in that period.
