Jack’s the lad in Manchester

AT the National Para Swim Championsh­ips (S14) at the Manchester Aquatics Centre, DCA’s Jack Milne won silver in the boys 14-17 age group 100m fly, bronze in the 50m free and he was fourth in the 100m free.

The younger swimmers from the DCA club were out in force at Stonehaven Swim Club’s annual Santa’s Elves Gala i n Montrose.

Twenty swimmers, aged 8-11, dressed in a ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas’ theme.

The DCA swimmers won three golds, nine silvers and four bronze medals with lots of great swims and personal bests.

The relay team won silver in the freestyle and medley relays.

DCA’s Nathan Ogston was awarded best boy prize in best 8-9-year-old age group.

Meanwhile, 12 DCA swimmers competed at the Scottish Short Course Championsh­ips at Edinburgh’s Royal Commonweal­th Pool.

In a great final night’s swimming headlined by the world class quality of Duncan Scott, DCA had two A finalists.

Iona Macleod was placed sixth in the 400 IM, setting a new Scottish 13-year-old age group record, her fourth Scottish record in a month.

Eilidh Grant was just as impressive in the 200 free, finishing just out of the medals in fifth place.
