NCR on top after superb victory

IN the Dundee Area Badminton League Second Division, there are new leaders after NCR’s 4-2 win against Abertay University.

The level doubles proved to be the deciding factor, with Cash racing into a 3-0 lead, although the students reduced the leeway to two prior to the mixed doubles.

A win in game six by Abertay made it very tight but the Cash held on for an excellent win.

Cash’s Lorraine Gibb had three superb wins.

It’s neck and neck at the top of Division Three, with Nomads (3) and Dundee University (3) boasting 100% records.

Nomads (3) moved top on games difference following a 6-0 away win at Dundee University (4).

They had a strong start winning the first three games and had victory clinched by game six, with the students gaining three draws.

Amy Paton is having a superb season and maintained her 100% record to move top of the rankings with another three wins.

Monifieth Grove got their first win of the season, moving up to third with an 8-1 win against Abertay (2).

Special mention goes to youngster Rachael Murr who came to watch but ended up making her debut. She recorded two victories.

In the Handicap Cup quarter-finals Abertay University won 5-2 against Dundee University (2).
