Keeper is a star of the show
IN the Midland Men’s Indoor Division Three (Development League) play-off games for final positions at Douglas Sports Centre, scores were Monarchs III 4 Wanderers VI 3. There were walkovers for Wanderers teams against Harris III and Menzieshill VI.
In the title decider, Perthshire II won 2-0 against Menzieshill V. Archie Stephen and Tom Cahalin scored. Special mention to Perthshire keeper, Musakhar Hussain Khan Rehman (17) for an outstanding display.
Midland scores are slow coming in but Perthshire II had a 5-1 win over Madras II in a re-arranged game.
Ladies Division One — Blairgowrie 2 Wanderers II 1, St Andrews Univ. III. 5 Monarchs I. Division Two — St Andrews Univ. V 1 Kinross II 8, and, on Sunday, Dundee Univ. IV 3 St Andrews Univ. IV 9.
In the National League Outdoor, Midland involvement is, in the men’s Division One, Grove Menzieshill v Edinburgh University. Top game is Kelburne v Grange.
Division Two includes, Stepps v Inverleith on Thursday and, on Saturday, Dunfermline v Dundee Wanderers, Falkirk v Dundee University, Greenock v St Andrews University and Granite City v Harris FP.
Division Three — Monarchs v Perthshire (Dalnacraig, 2pm), Regional Two — Menzieshill II v Falkirk II.
In the ladies divisions, local interest is Division One — Western Wildcats v Dundee Wanderers and Watsonians v Grove, Division Two — Border Reivers v Dundee Univ. and St Andrews Univ. v Stirling Univ., Championship A — Kinross v Haddington and Waverley IT v Grove II, Championship B — Ayr v Dundee Univ. II, St Andrews Univ. II v Strathclyde Univ and Kelburne II v Perthshire.
This Saturday there are full Midland men’s Division One and Ladies Divisions One and Two programmes. On Sunday in the Men’s Division One, it’s Wanderers II v St Andrews Univ. II.
