Storming finish by battling Bluebells

- BY JUNICUS

A SENSATIONAL comeback by Lochee United saw them score four goals in the last 20 minutes for a stunning victory at Bo’ness.

The Bluebells started strongly but fell behind in 18 minutes when Bo’ness were awarded a soft penalty which was converted by Colin Strickland.

It looked like it wasn’t going to be the visitors’ day when Ross Philip added a second for the hosts in 25 minutes and Ross Campbell made it three early in the second half.

However, Jamie Montgomery started the recovery in 70 minutes, then Aaron Whitehead added a second in 78 minutes.

Scott McComiskie then put the cat among the pigeons when he equalised in 84 minutes.

The shell-shocked home side couldn’t believe what was happening and worse was to follow for them when Bryan Deasley tapped in Lochee’s winner in the final minute.

Broughty Athletic made it two league wins in a row with a comfortable 2-0 victory over bottom-of-the-table Fauldhouse.

The Fed took the lead in 12 minutes through Shaka Roy, and Kevin Buchan doubled their advantage in 38 minutes.

Broughty then strolled through the rest of the game with the only disappointment being they couldn’t add to their tally.

All the action came in a hectic first 15-minute spell in Perth where Jeanfield and Carnoustie drew 2-2.

The Gowfers got off to a blistering start with two goals in the opening eight minutes.

Jamie McCabe headed them into the lead after six minutes and, two minutes later, he took advantage of a poor passback to knock in a second.

However, the Perth side came back with a positive response with two goals of their own in the next seven minutes through Robbie Holden and Steve McManus.

Both sides had chances to go on and win the game after the hectic start but there was no further scoring and the Gowfers were happy to settle for a point after Ryan Roche was red-carded late in the game.
