Scott nabs treble as Kirrie go top

-

A DARREN SCOTT hat-trick was the feature of Kirrie Thistle’s 3-0 home win over Blairgowrie.

The victory enabled Thistle to edge Scone off top spot on goal difference.

Meanwhile, Blair have now only garnered one point from six games which has seen the one-time promotion contenders slip to sixth.

Scone Thistle drew 1-1 against Luncarty at Farquharson Park. Thistle went ahead through Craig Mitchell after 26 minutes but they were pegged back when Richard Doig converted a spot-kick with 15 minutes left.

Kinnoull maintained their promotion challenge with a resounding 5-0 win at Forfar Albion.

Destroyer-in-chief was Rhys Davies, who scored four, with Robbie Norrie also on target.

East Craigie were narrow, but deserved, 2-1 winners at Newburgh.

The Shipbuilders took an early lead through Nik Mann. Andy McDonald added a second before the home side pulled one back through Cammy Black in the second half.

A depleted Harp side were up against it even before a ball was kicked against Thornton and it was no surprise the hot promotion favourites took full advantage and strolled to a 4-0 victory.

Victory by the odd goal in five at Brechin Vics lifted Lochore off the foot of the table. Paul Ross put the home side ahead but the Fifers hit back with goals from Kearayn Hicks and James Adam (2).

Liam Bailey pulled one back but the visitors held on for only their second win of the season.

Coupar Angus commanded their Foxhall Park encounter with Arbroath Vics from the first whistle to cruise to a 4-0 victory.

Deservedly three up at the break thanks to goals from Chris Livesedge, Tom Casey and Alex Gibb, Ross Nicolson added a fourth with 20 minutes left.
