Students to showcase their work
FIVE graduating art, design and architecture students will get the chance to talk about their work at the next Dundee Arts Cafe.
They will be at The McManus on Tuesday to highlight their work that is going on display at this year’s University of Dundee Art, Design & Architecture Degree Show.
Each year Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design’s Matthew and Crawford buildings are transformed into Scotland’s largest exhibition space to showcase the work of more than 350 students. For 10 days from Saturday May 20, visitors can view the culmination of years of creative development and hard work in a show spanning areas of design and craft, contemporary art practice, social digital, graphic communication and architecture.
Professor Paul Harris, dean of Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design, said: “This year we have yet another fantastic show that covers a breadth of subjects and interests.
“Dundee Arts Cafe will be giving students a platform to explain what their work is about and what it means to them. It also gives the public a taste of what is to come later in May.”
Dundee Arts Cafe is a programme of talks showcasing local arts research and developments.
The series is organised by the University of Dundee in partnership with Abertay University and Leisure & Culture Dundee.
‘Meet the Degree Show Artists and Designers’ takes place at The McManus at 6pm on Tuesday. The one-hour event is free and doors open at 5pm.
