On the march

WORKERS will once again march through the streets of Kirkcaldy to celebrate May Day.

Last year, the Fife Trades Union Council organised the first May Day march in Fife for many years, with more than 300 people taking part.

The event will be held again this year on Saturday May 6, starting from the Mercat Shopping Centre at 11am.

Fife TUC chairman Ian Waddell said: “It should be a colourful and lively event.

“Participants will be stating the importance of workers in our society and the need for workers’ rights.”

After the march there will be a rally in the Adam Smith Theatre.
