Good work ethic essential if you want to succeed

-

CATERING is not for everyone. It is hard work. Shifts can be long, kitchens very hot, tasks repetitive.

A passion for cooking helps, and a good work ethic is essential to succeed.

Entry-level jobs aren’t going to make you rich and the shifts will likely include giving up your weekends and evenings. But the upsides are huge — pride in your work, satisfaction, constantly learning, progression, the creativity of cooking and the camaraderie of working in a supportive team.

Hayley has won her place within Broughty Golf Club due to the quality of her food, her engaging manner and the passion she takes to work every day.

There are many courses available — check out Dundee and Angus College — and even entry-level part-time jobs could be a start.
