May super strike is praised

PRESTON North End manager Simon Grayson was delighted for Stevie May (above) after he marked his first star t f or 18 months with his first goal in Lilywhites colours.

The former St Johnstone player has been out with a serious knee injury since a year past November.

He scored t he equaliser against Rotherham just before half-time with a lovely curling effort into the top right-hand corner which gave Preston a point.

Preston gaffer Grayson said: “Stevie has been working very hard in training and has had to be patient waiting for this opportunit­y.

“He has waited and I felt it was a good opportunit­y to get him into the team. He showed his class by dropping i nto space and executing a fantastic shot.”
