‘Contact college now over modern apprenticeships’
COMPANIES i n Dundee keen to take on a modern apprentice this year should contact D&A College now.
College staff have now been i nformed by Skills Development Scotland that they have secured funding to train 139 modern apprentices in a diverse range of disciplines.
From administration to animal care, horticulture to hospitality, sport to social care, college staff are prepared to train MAs for the demands of t he f uture employment market.
D&A College tendered for the right to deliver the training after conducting research into prospective employers’ demand f or future employee places across Tayside and Fife.
As well as places for more than 100 16-19-yearolds, the Dundee college has the capacity to train 25 people i n the 20-24 age group and seven people aged 25-plus.
“We are now aiming to match employers in Fife and Tayside with these t r a i n i n g p l a c e s ,” s a i d Veronica Lynch, director of external relations at D&A.
“With employers far more likely to fill an apprentice place when they know they have t he support of a well-established organisation such as D&A College, p o t e n t i a l ly 1 3 9 yo u n g people will find employment.”
