However, when they were both out, the remaining wickets fell quickly and they could muster only 154.

Forfarshir­e’s good run of form came to an end as the Dundee side lost to Heriot’s at Goldenacre.

Heriot’s recorded their third win against Forfarshir­e this season as they posted 187 with Marc Watt scoring 72.

Brock Ditchman was the pick of the bowlers taking 4-37 in his spell.

When Forfarshir­e batted, most of the batsmen got a start but none went on to record a big score as they finished 15 runs short on 172.

Glenrothes won the Fife derby in style as they recorded a five-wicket win against Falkland.

Hasha Coorey scored a fine 106 but received little support as Falkland posted 199-8 in their innings.

In reply, Saffy Sharif was unbeaten on 58 at the end as the Glens romped home with time to spare.

The final game saw Aberdeensh­ire beaten by Watsonians at Myreside.

A dramatic batting collapse by the Dons saw them slip from 126-4 to only 155 with Brian O’Connell taking 4-38.

The home side wasted no time in recording victory as they lost only three wickets in reaching their target with George Munsey unbeaten on 57.

In the Western Premier Division, Prestwick increased their lead at the top after they won a close game at Dumfries.

Batting first, Fazal Jawad scored a century for Prestwick as they posted 235-9.

Jamie Forsyth then scored a century for Dumfries as they came agonisingl­y close but were dismissed for 230 in the final over.

Ferguslie moved to second place as they beat Ayr in a high scoring game.

Ferguslie reached 276 in their innings before Ayr were restricted to 256-5 in reply.

Elsewhere, there were victories for East Kibride over Greenock and Poloc over Uddingston.

In the Western Championsh­ip, West of Scotland got back to winning ways with victory over St Michael’s, second-placed Stirling were defeated at home by Glasgow High Kelvinside and Stenhousem­uir lost against Glasgow Accies.

ENGLAND pulled together to win the Lord’s Test against South Africa.

Moeen Ali took 10-112 as the home side triumphed by 211 runs.

The all-rounder edged the Man of the Match award ahead of Joe Root who hit a firstinnin­gs 190.

ARBROATH’S hopes of winning the Eastern Premier Division cricket title were boosted when they won by 10 wickets against SMRH at Inverleith while nearest challenger­s Grange lost at home to Carlton.
