United new boy is a fan of McKinnon’s attitude
“I had said I would go there to speak with them and look around. When I got there nothing was organised and I knew I would not sign.
“But they had me at a Press conference and it was clear they were saying I had signed when I hadn’t. Then they wouldn’t even book me a ticket home and I had to get my manager to arrange that.
“It was a crazy situation and I laugh now, but my worry was that other clubs would see the reports that I had signed for them and I would not get a move.
“I am lucky to have the chance to come to Dundee United.”
Now he’s here and things are settled N’Koyi is relishing the chance to have a crack at Scottish football.
And while he’s confident of his ability to succeed, N’Koyi knows winning promotion will be down to a team effort.
“I am a striker and I know I will be judged on goals. If I score twenty people will say I am a good player.
“If I have twenty assists, but only score two goals I might know I have done well, but people will not see that so I must get goals.
“I believe I will, but when I do I will always know that it will be because my team-mates have given me a good ball.
“Without good service you cannot score and having trained with the team now I know we have good players who will give that service.”
