Another new Star signs up
DUNDEE CCS Stars have announced the addition of Canadian defenceman Emerson Hrynyk (above) to their roster for the coming season.
The 24-year-old joins the club from Mount Royal University where he made over 80 appearances during a four year spell.
Standing at 6’ 2” and weighing 187 pounds, Hrynyk will be a formidable presence on Stars’ blueline.
Coach Omar Pasha said of his new charge: “Emerson had four successful seasons with Mount Royal where he helped the programme grow.
“He’s just a hungry player ready to start his first season as a professional with us.
“Emerson is a strong young defenceman, strong in the corners and he doesn’t hold back.
“He works hard on and off the ice plus he adds a bit more size at the back which I felt we needed.
“He also has a lot of leadership qualities and will be a good signing for us.”
Hrynyk said: “I am really excited to be joining up at Stars.
“It’s been a busy week, talking to Omar Pasha and I’m over the moon to have signed.
“I’m a defensive D-man and take care of things at my own end and move the puck around.
“I bring a lot of physicality to the game.
“I like to hit everything that moves so I will be physical.
“I know this a good league I am joining and I am really looking forward to it and to meeting the Dundee fans.”
