Bluebells get set to unveil new men

LOCHEE United, who only re-started training last Tuesday, are holding an open day tomorrow at Thomson Park starting at 12 noon.

Manager George Shields and the coaching staff will stage an open training session for the supporters followed by a question-and-answer session with the Bluebells gaffer.

In addition, five new signings will be unveiled and there will be an opportunit­y to meet them and the rest of the playing squad.

Fans will also be updated about exciting new sponsorshi­p deals which are in place for the next two seasons and be able to purchase season tickets at last season’s prices — £55 (adult) and £25 (concession).

ARBROATH Vics are to stage a four-team tournament as part of their preparatio­n for the new season.

The event kicks off on Saturday, July 22, and sees the first semi-final between Arbroath High School and Portcullis start at 12 noon.

This will be followed by the Arbroath Vics v Arbroath Harp tie at 2pm.

The losers in those games will face each other on Sunday, July 23 at 2pm, followed by the final at 4pm.

Before that, Vics will begin their friendly schedule on Tuesday away to Morgan Amateurs.

The Ogilvy Park outfit have also arranged home friendlies against Cruden Bay Juniors (29/7) and Forfar West End (2/8).

Vics Player of the Year was Kellon Lyons, with Kyle Findlater the Players’ Player of the Year.

NORTH End will face a young Dundee United side this evening at North End Park. Kick-off is at 7pm.

NEWBURGH boss Alan Fortune will get his first chance to see his side in action tomorrow when they welcome Kirrie in the first of their four pre-season games.

Defender Pav Ostrovskis, who previously played for Tayport, is the latest newcomer to ’Burgh’s ranks and is one of four new players who could be involved against the Berts.

Last season’s North League champions Kirrie will be stern opponents. Kick-off is 2pm.
