ST JOHNSTONE manager To m m y W r i g h t w a s delighted his side kept “another clean sheet” in their away friendly win over East Fife.

The Perth outfit triumphed 2-0, the victory following on from a 3-0 win over Sunderland, a 1-0 success over Hartlepool and two good closed-doors results against Rangers, a 1-0 victory and 0-0 divide.

“I’m pleased with the way things have gone in pre-season,” said Tommy.

“We have looked solid, we’ve carried a goal threat and have passed the ball well.”

Tommy is also delighted to have Michael O’Halloran back at the club.

He commented: “I had three targets over the close season and have managed to get two of them in — Michael and Stefan Scougall.

“I have still hope to get the third one in but may have to wait until nearer the conclusion of the transfer window.”

With regard to O’Halloran, Saints wanted to bring their former player in on loan from Rangers in January but that didn’t happen.

However, they’ve now got their man in until January on a loan deal with Tommy stating chairman Stevie Brown “acted quickly” to help get the deal over the line.

Meanwhile, t he Dave M a c k a y Te s t i m o n i a l committee is delighted to announce actor and lifelong Saints fan Colin McCredie has agreed to be master of ceremonies at the September 2 dinner being held at the Dewar’s Centre.

Colin, who sponsored Dave’s j ersey f or many seasons, said: “Dave deserves the testimonial because not only is he a Saints l egend but also because he’s such a great and decent man.

“I’m sure fans will make it a great night.”
