Davidson form pleases Wright
ST JOHNSTONE manager To m m y W r i g h t w a s delighted with the display of Murray Davidson in the home 4-1 success over Motherwell.
“Muzz” scored Saints’ fourth goal but it was his overall performance which pleased the Saints gaffer.
Tommy said:“Murray was very solid, very strong and he played an important part in our success.
“Paul Paton also came in and did a good job.
“In fact, like Murray, he was very strong.”
Continuing his praise of midfield players,Tommy felt Stefan Scougall also played his part.
“Stefan put in a great ball for our opening goal from Steven MacLean,” Tommy went on.
“Getting him and Michael O’Halloran on t he ball further up the park is key to our success.
“Stefan has settled i n very well but there is room for improvement from him and he will get better as the season goes on.
“Right now, he is doing well and I feel he will continue to do so.
“I was determined to get Stefan into the club and get Michael O’Halloran back and t hey are definitely proving their worth.
“Stefan is an infectious character, a great lad and he has fitted in well to our dressing-room.
“Mind you, it is an easy one to fit into.”
Meanwhile, Saints’ search for a striker continues.
Conor Sammon and Miles Storey were linked with the Perth club but have signed for Partick and may face Saints on Saturday.
However, it’s believed Saints presently have a player in training with them.
Tonight, their U/20s are in action in the Irn-Bru Cup.
They meet Aberdeen U/20s at Brechin’s Glebe Park with the match going ahead at 7.45pm.
