Shocked by response to complaints

-

IN view of the public comments about the bins I’ve been reading in the Tele and the responses from councillors, I have to ask myself why we vote.

The councillors’ responses to the comments are absolutely shocking. People in Dundee pay council tax for services and we are not getting our money’s worth.

We vote councillors in as our voice but every time a councillor replies to public complaints all they do is defend the council.

Looking around Dundee since the new bin system has been introduced, the schemes in the city are an absolute disgrace.

What shocks me more is that a councillor can say there is not a problem.

How could he say the city will never be rat infested? Maybe it’s not rat infested but it sure is infested by gulls and foxes that are always in the rubbish left beside bins that are full.

There was never a problem with the bins until the system was changed.

Angry tax payer.

rubbish bins on pavements and streets in front of houses for all to see.

The parking spaces in most housing estates are little enough as it is without putting rubbish bins on the roads.

The whole thing is just an eyesore. Whether they are kept tidy or not makes little difference — no one wants to look at bins when they walk down a main road.

I would like to know what tourists think about Dundee when they see our streets the

way they are.
