Transport solutions sought

-

DUNDEE Health and Social Care Partnership is working with Dundee Voluntary Action (DVA) to provide transport solutions in the city.

A spokesman for the partnership said: “It i s acknowledged that there is a gap in transport for people who do not drive and are not able to access public transport.

“We are interested mainly in the elderly, disabled, frail and vulnerable in order to reduce isolation for the people who can’t get out.

“A consultation exercise is being undertaken, with a transport focus, to ask citizens of Dundee what it is that is preventing them from getting out and doing the things they want to do.

“We would like to develop new transport options that fill the gaps and so we need people to tell us, transport wise, what stops them getting out.”

The spokesman added that i n addition t o an online survey on t he Dundee City Council, Dundee Health and Social Care Partnership and DVA websites, they would be going door-to-door and holding drop-in sessions across the city during September.

“Please look out for our yellow consultation cards which will be distributed around the city which you can complete and send back t o us using t he freepost address on the card, or you can complete our online survey at surveymonkey.co.uk/r/ AccessibleTransport,” he said.
