Ray’s focused on Tangerines
EVEN though his team face the Championship’s big early-season underachievers when they travel to Falkirk tomorrow, Ray McKinnon knows two things.
The Bairns’ problems are none of his business and, more importantly, wherever they are in the league, a trip there is not going to be a walk in the park.
Tipped by many to be United’s main challengers in the promotion race this term, former Tannadice boss Peter Houston’s team are second bottom after just two draws in their opening five games.
While he’s sure those stats will change drastically in the coming months, Ray is happy to leave Houstie to worry about it.
“We all have our own things we are working on, every team has. We’ve got our own things, so I’ m happy to leave Falkirk to deal with theirs,” he said.
“What I do know and will say i s it will be a good game, a tough game, and they are a good side.
“They are always hard games t here. Everyone goes to Falkirk and gets a tough game and this won’t be any different.
“We are going there to win and, hopefully, we are going in in better shape than we have been recently, with players getting their proper match fitness.”
United will make changes from last week’s home draw with Dumbarton.
The likes of Mark Durnan, Willo Flood, James Keatings and Patrick N’Koyi are all pushing hard to be included i n the starting line-up.
