Paul hopes to win versus Victor
DUNDEE super-welter boxer Paul Kean is hoping to make it six wins from six professional bouts when he takes on Victor Edagha in Paisley’s Lagoon Centre on October 28.
It will be Paul’s first six round bout.
Edagha now lives in London but previously stayed north of the border and boxed for the Barn ABC in Coatbridge.
He has been stopped only once in his 20-bout career.
HAVING one Dundee boxer, bantamweight Jamie Wilson, i n his squad, Iain Wilson is willing to sign others from the area.
Glasgow-based Iain is happy with Jamie’s progress and said he’s happy to sign up others who fit the bill and are keen to turn pro.
Jamie has been beaten in challenges for British and Commonwealth titles but the 25-year-old is young enough and good enough to secure a major title.
“Jamie can get into title contention again,” said Iain.
“He’ll feature on a St Andrew’s Club show on the 23rd of next month and then we’ll look at having him back in the ring again before too long after that.
“It may be he’ll be involved in a title contest after that. We’ll just have to wait and see.”
TWO Tayside light-welter prospects face each other in Montrose on Saturday night.
Perth Railway’s Luke Bibby takes on George Reid (Arbroath ABC).
Luke has won Scottish titles at novice, intermediate and open level and Railway coach Stuart Campbell said the club are looking to keep Luke busy this season.
The youngster is part of the Scottish High Performance squad.
Railway welter Zack Fummey is also on the Montrose bill while another welter, Tony Williamson, boxes i n Kirkcaldy on Friday.
